Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long have you been in business?
In September 2002 (and later formally incorporated in March 2003), we established this law practice in San Jose, California, and first handedly experienced the exciting evolution of the Silicon Valley from a legal perspective.
2. What differentiate your firm with others?
We don’t work from home. It may interfere with our full attention on tasks that our clients entrust us with. We dedicate personalized attention to each matter that we take on, whether a transactional or litigation matter. Because we have substantial experience in the areas of law we practice, we work efficiently and effectively, which preserves clients’ valuable resources without compromising our commitment to zealously represent clients’ best interest. As a boutique firm with a low overturn rate and tightknit community, we can ensure continuity from attorneys who handle your matter, from beginning to end.
3. Do you handle cases outside San Francisco Bay Area?
Yes. We often handle cases in Southern California (Los Angeles and Orange Counties). Beyond that, we have handled matters involving domestic and international jurisdictions, including New York, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Japan, European Union, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. We collaborate with local counsels around the world to successfully serve our clients beyond the Silicon Valley.
4. Do you charge fees on a pure contingency basis?
No. It is our firm policy not to charge fees on pure contingency basis. Occasionally, where appropriate, we may formulate a mixed fee structure including both hourly fees plus a percentage of contingency based on the recovery we may achieve for our client, through trial or settlement.
5. Do you offer payment plans for clients?
Yes, we often work together with clients to create a payment plan on a case-by-case basis. We always try to accommodate each client’s unique financial situations to the best of our ability.
6. Do you charge for time worked by paralegals?
No. We only charge clients for the time that licensed attorneys spend working on their cases.
7. Do you charge copying fees?
No, unless the case requires an extraordinary amount of document production, such as thousands of pages.
8. Do you offer free consultation?
Yes, we offer initial phone/Zoom consultations as a complimentary service.
9. Do you carry malpractice insurance?
Yes. Although not required by law, we always carry malpractice insurance so our clients can have peace of mind knowing they will receive skilled expertise.
10. Can I reach your firm during after-hours, weekends and holidays?
Yes, we have 24 hour answering services. We will try our best to return your inquiry within one (1) hour during business hours, and within 24 hours during after-hours, weekends, and holidays. Current and prospective clients are also welcome to contact us via email (info@sacattorneys.com) or the inquiry form on our website: www.sacattorneys.com.
